The name "Kurtlocker" originated from a member of the strongman team while I was stationed in Wichita Falls Texas.  The name is basically mashing up my first name with a popular movie, "The Hurt Locker", which is a movie about my day job in Explosive Ordnance Disposal.

I have owned a garage gym since 2016 and have been a middleweight strongman competitor since 2017.  I still compete in strongman as a middleweight 198.
